Upload requests

An upload request allows you to give temporary, upload-only access to any File Sync & Share folder owned by you.

Since the person you send the request to cannot even see the contents of the folder, upload requests are more secure than sharing a folder. They are also more flexible, as you don't need to know the email address of the person you wish to upload files, and the link can be passed on, if required, without having to create another share.

A typical upload request scenario is as follows:

  1. You choose a folder to which you want files to be uploaded.

  2. You create an upload request and send a link for the upload page to the person you want to perform the upload.

  3. The person you contacted uploads files, and you receive a notification e-mail.

  4. You access the uploaded file(s) in the folder.

  5. The upload request automatically expires, or you manually revoke it.
