Earth Day is a reminder that meaningful progress starts with action. At Acronis, sustainability is embedded into how we work every day, and our recent initiatives reflect a shared commitment to protecting the planet and our communities.
How Acronis is making a measurable difference
Acronis’ environmental initiatives are part of a broader environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy focused on transparency, accountability and long‑term value creation. The latest Acronis ESG Report offers a detailed, visually engaging overview of how the organization integrates responsible business practices across its operations, technology and communities.
The report shows how Acronis is making a difference by:
- Reducing environmental impact through improved operational efficiency, responsible infrastructure decisions and greater transparency around greenhouse gas emissions.
- Supporting communities and employee engagement through global volunteer initiatives, environmental cleanups and education programs delivered via the Acronis Cyber Foundation.
- Embedding responsible innovation by applying strong governance, data protection and responsible AI principles across products and internal operations.
Together, these efforts demonstrate how Acronis goes beyond cyber protection to support a more sustainable and resilient digital future.

Taking a hands-on approach to environmental protection
In 2025, Acronis continued its global, employee‑led environmental cleanup initiatives across eight Acronis offices worldwide. As part of these efforts, 57 Acronis employees participated in organized cleanup activities, collecting a total of 1,975 pounds (896 kg) of waste from local communities and natural environments.
These cleanups focus on removing persistent waste, including “forever chemicals” called PFAS found in everyday plastics that can remain in the environment for decades. According to the United Nations, some plastics can take between 20 and 500 years to decompose, contributing to long‑term environmental and ecosystem damage. By removing this waste, Acronis helps reduce the lasting impact of these potentially harmful chemicals while supporting a cleaner, healthier local environment for the community.
Initiatives like our World Cleanup Day event reflect Acronis’ ongoing commitment to practical, measurable environmental action and to empowering employees to make a positive impact beyond their day‑to‑day work.
Embedding sustainability into everyday operations
Sustainability is built into day‑to‑day operations across all Acronis global offices, influencing how teams work together and make decisions. Key initiatives include:
- Expanded recycling and waste‑reduction programs across offices worldwide.
- Smart waste‑sorting bins introduced at the Sofia office in Bulgaria, identifying that approximately 29% of waste could be reduced by avoiding single‑use items.
- Certified green workplaces such as LEED Gold‑certified offices in Bulgaria and Germany and a Singapore office located in a facility with a Green Mark operational rating.
Environmental progress is reinforced through community engagement and social impact initiatives:
- Employee‑led cleanup activities and tree‑planting efforts across multiple regions.
- Acronis Cyber Foundation Program initiatives, including the launch of a technology-first resource center in Kenya, which serves 1,200 students; and the grand opening of a new computer classroom for students in rural Mexico, which serves 80 students.
- IT skills programs and cyber safety workshops engaging 2,500+ participants.
Partner‑powered action for communities and the planet
Beyond Acronis’ own efforts, these initiatives are strengthened through the active involvement of partners who share the same commitment to giving back. By rolling up their sleeves alongside Acronis teams, partners help extend the reach of these programs, amplifying their impact across local communities and environments. Helping others and protecting the planet is contagious, and Acronis is grateful to work with partners who contribute their time, expertise and energy to making a positive difference together.
Partners demonstrate that the cyber protection services they deliver are backed by a vendor that consistently lives its values — and not just through strategy, but through real, everyday acts of kindness.
