Rompetrol, the operator of Romania's largest oil refinery — which produces more than 5 million tons of oil per year — has become a victim of Hive ransomware.
As a result of this attack, Rompetrol has been forced to shut down its websites and the Fill&Go service at its gas stations. The organization has stated that the attack affected most of their IT services, and the Hive group is threatening to leak stolen data unless Rompetrol pays $2 million in ransom.
