British snack producer hit with Conti ransomware

KP Snacks, a popular snacks producer in England, has fallen victim to an attack from the Conti ransomware group. The company has over 2,000 employees and an estimated annual revenue of over $600 million, making them an undeniably high-value target.

The attackers managed to exfiltrate sensitive information, such as employee details, financial documents, and customer agreements. This is the latest example of Conti's double-extortion tactics, in which they amp up the pressure on victims by threatening to publicly leak data if their demands are not met.

The Conti gang has been very active recently, going after companies such as Bank of Indonesia and the Nordic Choice Hotel Group. Acronis Cyber Protect includes Active Protection to detect and stop ransomware before your data or business operations are impacted.
