Lapsus$ gang releases 70 GB of stolen data

After taking a week off, the Lapsus$ extortion group came back in force with the release of 70 GB of data from IT and software development firm Globant — making the Luxembourg-based company the latest in a string of victims that include the likes of DHL, Facebook, BNP Paribas Cardif, and Citibanamex.

Lapsus$ communicates via a Telegram channel, which currently has at least 54,000 members. This was the avenue chosen by the group to release images as proof of their attack.

Globant employs over 16,000 people around the world and had a revenue of $1.2 billion in 2021, making them a clear high-value target. Their customers include Autodesk, Electronic Arts, Metropolitan Police, Santander, Royal Caribbean, and many other high-profile organizations.

Acronis Cyber Protect's AI-powered and behavioral detection engines identify and block the RedLine infostealer used by Lapsus$, along with other malware, keeping your data out of the hands of attackers.
