Google has issued an emergency update (Chrome 98.0.4758.102) for its popular Chrome browser, with fixes for seven high-severity vulnerabilities. One of these, CVE-2022-0609, has already been actively exploited in the wild, making it this year's first Chrome zero-day vulnerability.
The Chrome browser has 3.2 billion users worldwide, making any unmitigated security flaws supremely dangerous. Google paid up to $15,000 for the discovery of these vulnerabilities under its bug bounty program.
