February Patch Tuesday fixes 48 vulnerabilities, including a zero-day

Microsoft's February Patch Tuesday has arrived, bringing fixes for a total of 48 bugs, including one zero-day vulnerability.

While none of this month's patches are considered 'critical' in severity, the zero-day bug has a CVSS rating of 7.8 out of 10, and can be exploited to escalate privileges via the kernel. The zero-day vulnerability was not assigned a 'critical' rating because the attacker must take additional actions in order to exploit the vulnerability.

In addition to Microsoft's patches, Adobe has also released security updates for several of their Creative Suite products, including Premier Rush, Photoshop, After Effects, and others. CISA has issued an alert regarding these updates due to the ability for an attacker to take full control of unpatched systems.

New security updates are constantly introduced for business-critical software, and keeping environments fully patched can be an overwhelming prospect. Acronis Cyber Protect enables simple and automated patch management, supporting optimal protection of the systems under your purview while supporting easy rollback in the rare event of a bad patch — all through a single web console.
