Acronis activEcho 3.0 Delivers Enterprise-Grade Control and Security for Corporate File Sharing and Syncing

The advent of enterprise mobility has radically affected the way organizations conduct business. No matter whether you are talking to customers from markets as diverse as Pharma, Health, Financial, Education, Publishing, Advertising, Government, Legal, or service providers, it’s a fact that mobility is here to stay. But while it brings all kinds of benefits it also creates a new set of challenges.

Now organizations can be more productive than ever. CEOs can verify the latest contract while in the airport, researchers can work in the field and easily access all their data, and sales professionals can have access to the latest product presentations at any moment to lock in that big deal.

We’ve become far more productive and can even share synced files with teams distributed around the globe. However, this connectivity also raises flags about data security and how to prevent accidental leaks of sensitive files.

Based on our many years of experience working with enterprises and large, complex organizations we’ve learned a lot about their needs and pains. We recognized that no solution out there addressed all of these critical and emerging needs, so we set out to fix that. This week, we announced the fruits of those labors — activEcho 3.0 and I’d like toshare with you exactly how it is revolutionizing the market:

• IT needs control and security - We created the Acronis Policy Engine to allow IT to set properties, permissions and policies for individuals, groups, entire organizations, internal or external. We don’t assume we know our customers better than they do, so we strongly believe IT should be able to define “who can do what with whom” based on THEIR business needs. They can even decentralize control for large organizations by offering different regional offices the ability to set up their own policies
• Streamlining management - We re-built, almost from scratch, the management console so IT has everything they need in a single place to manage activEcho and mobilEcho, even from a mobile device!
• Visibility - The new audit log, which now integrates activEcho and mobilEcho activity and records everything, good and bad, who’s doing what and when. There is a wealth of information available here that can be filtered, searched, and exported.
• Addressing key language requirements – the product is now fully localized in German, Japanese, and French to address key regional needs.
