Value Added Reseller Foedus Incorporates Acronis Products into Virtualization Implementation at Parametric Technology Corp.
September 11, 2006, Paris Acronis EMEA (www.acronis.com/en-gb/), the technological leader in storage management software, today launched its first reseller program, the Acronis Authorized Solution Provider Program, designed to train and certify software services providers on the enterprise implementation of Acronis True Image. Acronis also announced that its Gold Authorized Solution Provider Foedus, a Portsmouth, N.H., provider of virtualization infrastructure technologies and services, has implemented both Acronis True Image and Acronis Universal Restore as components in a virtualization project at Parametric Technology Corp. in Needham, MA.
The Acronis Authorized Solution Provider Program provides software services companies with a two-day training and certification program focused on the best practices necessary to build value for the award-winning Acronis True Image disk imaging products and Acronis Disk Director Server disk management products in enterprise accounts. Pre-existing Acronis distribution agreements with Tech Data Corp., Clearwater, FL; and LifeBoat Distribution, Shrewsbury, NJ, ensure nationwide product availability while best practices training supports software services providers in their virtualization, business continuity and integration projects.
The Acronis Authorized Solution Provider Program recognizes three levels of participation with escalating benefit levels that scale to include:
- Discount on software licenses and maintenance
- Access to priority technical support
- Partner Portal Access for sales/marketing tools and programs
- Access to NFR Licenses for customer evaluations
- Sales and Technical Training/Certification programs
- Joint-marketing initiatives such as PR, events and Marketing Development Funds
- Lead referrals and deal registration program
- Partner listing on Acronis web site
- Access to Acronis Territory Manager and Channel Development Manager
At Parametric Technology Corp., Foedus utilized Acronis True Image and Universal Restore as integral business continuity and disaster recovery components of a VMware implementation. "VMware enables affordable disaster recovery of X86 servers by providing a platform capable of one-to-many disaster recovery," said John Dodge, CIO at Foedus. "A significant issue in the past was capturing and maintaining the system state without disrupting services. We use Acronis True Image and Universal Restore to take a hot snap shot of the running physical system; this mitigates the need to regularly schedule downtime and allows for image restoration into a Virtual Machine at the DR location, without sacrificing days or weeks of system state and data."
"While Acronis True Image is easy to install and use, some of the more complicated enterprise environments into which it is being sold are not," said Eric Dougherty, director of channel sales for Acronis. "With the Acronis Authorized Solution Provider Program, our channel partners get the level of education and support they need to provide a solution for these enterprise infrastructures, plus they can ultimately benefit from our reward system. We plan to announce its first class of certified partners next month."
