In the recover exchange_database command, available values of the parameter are as follows:
The data will be recovered to the state of the most recent transaction log file existing in Exchange. If transaction logs are not available (lost, deleted or corrupted), the data will be recovered to the moment of backup creation.
The data will be recovered from the latest backup of an archive.
The data will be recovered to a certain date and time. The software will first recover data to the time of the last created full backup before the specified time, and then apply the transaction log files from the transaction log backups.
If this value is used, you need to specify the --pit parameter.
The data will be recovered from the backup that you specify with the --backup parameter.
Command: recover exchange_mailbox
--recovery_point={latest_backup|point_in_time|selected_backup}
In the recover exchange_mailbox command, available values of the parameter are as follows:
The data will be recovered from the latest backup of an archive.
The data will be recovered to a certain date and time. This value can be used only if you recover a mailbox, a public folder or a mailbox folder from a database-level backup.
If this value is used, you need to specify the --pit parameter.
The data will be recovered from the backup that you specify with the --backup parameter.
