End of life for Acronis Disk Director

formerly Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office

Acronis Disk Director was introduced almost two decades ago, and since then, it has been a successful tool supporting a variety of use cases. Its main purpose was to manage disk partitions, particularly when there was more than one operating system on a single hard disk, and IT had to maintain dual or multiboot systems. This was a necessity before virtualization became popular.

However, as technology has evolved, new operating systems now have built-in tools to manage disk partitions, which has led to a decrease in demand for Acronis Disk Director. In response, Acronis has made the decision to sunset Acronis Disk Director and shift its focus to its flagship products: Acronis Cyber Protect for corporate customers, Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud for managed service providers (MSPs) and Acronis True Image for home users. Acronis Disk Director will continue to function as promised — even after the end of sales and support.

Acronis is in contact with Acronis Disk Director’s current users, supporting migrations to other Acronis products where possible.

Acronis Cyber Protect is a comprehensive data protection solution that offers home users, corporate customers and MSPs a range of features, including anti-malware, backup, disaster recovery and endpoint management. By prioritizing this product, Acronis can better serve the evolving needs of its customers and continue to provide the highest level of data protection.
